Offer description

To be responsible for the rigorous Quality Assurance in-house testing of all client-assigned equipment and integrated audio-visual rack systems to ensure their 100% operational status.

To assist with the comprehensive evaluation and testing of existing and new technologies and the interoperability of different manufacturer products with the objective of augmenting the Company’s portfolio of solutions and services.

To have outstanding technical expertise on all audio-visual equipment within the Company’s portfolio, attaining and maintaining the highest certification levels on industry standards and manufacturer products.

To conduct best practice teach-ins and knowledge transfer tutorials to installation engineers and other technical staff to establish high-quality and standardised methods of working both on and off-site, thereby ensuring the highest levels of professionalism and workmanship.


DUTIES

* Demonstrate an in-depth, highly technical understanding of all commercial audio-visual and videoconferencing systems, being highly knowledgeable on and conversant with the Company’s entire portfolio of products and services.
* Be the in-house technical authority on all manufacturer products within the Company’s solutions portfolio, maintaining an in-depth understanding of all equipment being deployed and its applications. Complete all relevant training as directed by the Head of Projects to support this responsibility.
* Develop and maintain strong relationships with manufacturer product managers to enable speedy resolution of, sometimes, complex software and hardware issues that may arise.
* Attend weekly project meetings, being fully prepared to provide clear and accurate updates on the progress of all Quality Assurance testing for live projects. Through technical expertise, proactively identify and communicate to the Project Managers any and all potential risks relating to equipment performance and/or installation environments (e.g. wall structures, power requirements).
* Visually inspect, power up and configure each and every component assigned to a client project. This is to include ensuring the correct software / software revisions are loaded.
* Build and configure equipment racks in accordance with approved schematics and rack elevation drawings.
* Continually develop, augment and successfully carry out a clear, comprehensive and stringent testing matrix for each integrated system before it leaves the Production Workshop environment for deployment at a client site.
* Ensure the installation engineers are suitably prepared with the right equipment and consumables prior to each project.
* Create, maintain, and update clear and concise client user guides (such as for Microsoft Teams and BYoD deployments) in collaboration with the Project Managers and the Design team.
* Attend client sites, as required, to provide expert installation guidance and technical support to the Projects team during complex and/or large project rollouts.
* Deliver quarterly best-practice training sessions for Engineers and Project Managers, with a focus on continuous improvement and awareness of emerging technologies.
* Produce and distribute technical notices internally to highlight manufacturer product changes, critical updates (e.g. Microsoft Teams updates) and also their operational impact.
* Ensure the Production Workshop environment is utilised in the most efficient way, maintaining standards of health and safety, hygiene and security at all times. Also, ensure the area is presentable for client visits, demonstrations, and testing sessions as required by the Project, Design, and Client Services Departments.
* Contribute fully to the Company’s commitment to the annual C.H.A.S. certification, to its ISO 9001, 27001 and 14001 certifications and to its annual HMRC R&D tax relief claim, complying with all audit requirements and objectives.
* Demonstrate a clear understanding of the Company’s policies and vision and how the Production Workshop contributes to these.
* Produce regular reports relating to the testing process and the production area and brief the Head of Projects whenever necessary.
* Assist in the upkeep and operation of the Company’s meeting room and demonstration room facilities.
* Assist the Directors with ad hoc duties, as required.
* Maintain on a daily basis an up-to-date record of all activities and contact with clients and prospects through the Company’s CRM database.
