Overview

About the Role As the Head of Change Enablement, you will be accountable for leading a team of experts who provide internal consultancy services fundamental to the smooth running of change for the Bank and supporting activity to drive efficiency, effectiveness and productivity in the Bank’s activities. You will oversee the function responsible for delivering capabilities such as Business Change and Organisation Design, process improvement, and user centred design. In addition, you will be expected to develop future change capabilities, including training and coaching that support sustained ongoing change delivery. You will report directly into the Executive Director for Change and Planning and lead a multifaceted team responsible for supporting transformative change initiatives, optimising operational efficiency through change, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

You will be a member of the Change and Planning Directorate senior leadership team, and a member of the Bank’s extended leadership team.


Responsibilities

* Lead the development and delivery of a comprehensive change enablement strategy in partnership with the senior leadership team, ensuring alignment with the organisation’s strategic narrative. Accountable for managing a team of change specialists who provide internal consultancy services and support portfolio-level planning and day-to-day delivery of change initiatives across the Bank.
* Provide strategic direction and guidance to the function, ensuring delivery of appropriately scaled expert services into change initiatives.
* Champion the importance of effective Business Change, engage with senior stakeholders, and promote Change Enablement as the preferred supplier of consultancy and capability.
* Provide insight into the Enterprise Change Strain, influence senior governance groups, and offer recommendations on interventions or replanning where required.
* Collaborate with Portfolio Planning and Assurance and Change Delivery to support scoping of new initiatives and assurance of projects in progress, offering expert advice and challenge as needed.
* Drive and oversee organisational design initiatives to optimise structures, roles, and responsibilities for enhanced efficiency and agility, aligned to the Bank’s objectives and with the People team.
* Establish and oversee internal training programs on change capabilities for sponsors and colleagues in the Change and Planning directorate to ensure adherence to organisational and industry standards and methodologies.
* Oversee the execution of process improvement work across the Bank to identify opportunities for enhancements and efficiencies.
* Champion continuous improvement initiatives, collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement process changes and drive innovation. Establish and nurture communities of practice to facilitate knowledge sharing and skill development across change management and related disciplines.


Key Relationships And Dependencies

* Work cross-functionally with senior leadership within Change and Planning and wider teams (Technology, Data and MBR) to deliver significant change across the Bank, providing internal consulting expertise and partnering with Executive Sponsors and programme delivery teams.
* Work closely with the Head of Change Delivery to deliver project/programme reports and collaborate to identify resource requirements and escalate programme risks and issues.
* Work closely with the Head of Portfolio, Planning and Assurance, the Head of Strategic Planning and other senior stakeholders to oversee a flexible cross-bank organisational design aligned with the strategic narrative.
* Coach Executive Directors who sponsor projects and programmes.
* Accountability for the performance of the Change and Planning directorate at the Bank.


Minimum Criteria

* Proven consultancy and leadership experience in Change Enablement, or related roles within a complex organisation.
* Experience establishing change enablement functions, including developing and embedding new target operating models.
* Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and team-building skills.

* Expertise in a range of capabilities including business architecture, organisation design, change management methodologies, business analysis, and process improvement.
* Demonstrated ability to develop and implement training programs and standards, coupled with coaching and mentoring skills.
* Proficiency in MI & reporting, utilising data to drive strategic decision-making.
* Ability to drive cross-functional collaboration and a strategic mindset to oversee and optimise change enablement processes.
* Ability to multi-task and respond quickly to changing situations in complex environments.
* Proven expertise in leading cross-functional teams of experts in organisation design, change management methodologies, and process improvement.


Desirable Criteria

Salary And Benefits Information

* The position offers a competitive salary and a comprehensive benefits package including pension and other benefits described below.
