Manage all aspects of the Global Fire portfolio Certification assessments and approvals. Lead a team to maintain all relevant certifications by region and support R&D teams with assessment support.
1. To organise and execute allocated project work within agreed deadlines, in accordance with procedures and test methods laid down by assessment requirements and certification.
2. To manage a small team to maintain all global assessments and approvals for the PFP portfolio.
3. Fire test data assessments and optimisation to global standards including BS, EN, UL, ISO and AS.
4. To present results, develop conclusions and suggest/propose further work.
5. Support the Fire Estimation and Engineering Team with customer enquiries and specific support test needs. Maintains up to date competitor data and has the responsibility to load all current FIRETEX loading tables into the FDE portal.
6. Creates fire test packages in accordance with the required fire test standard specification to support new product development teams and data extension programmes for the current PFP portfolio.
7. Advises the business as part of the Fire Strategy Group on global testing, assessment and regulatory updates challenges.
8. To represent the Company when required at test laboratories, industry committees and customer sites. This may include travel for an extended period to support R&D projects.
9. To conduct/lead R&D investigations into product certification updates and changes and feedback through the Global Fire team.
10. Manages employee performance, by setting clear expectations, coaching for success, addressing performance concerns and holding them accountable.
11. Enables and delivers effective coaching, training and development for individuals and the team.
12. Achievement of effective communication both within own team, between teams and to key stakeholders.
13. Ensure a proactive approach to implementation of all H & S and security requirements.
14. To provide technical assistance and offer advice to internal and external customers specifically relating to the SW PFP portfolio.
15. Act as custodian of the Global certification and assessments portfolio for the SW PFP range.
16. Supports the transfer of knowledge and information throughout Sherwin-Williams
17. Follows procedures to ensure high quality output, taking action to address any issues.
18. Follows standards for excellence; takes responsibility to ensure consistent high standard of working.
1. FORMAL EDUCATION:
BSc/BEng Chemistry / Structural / Fire Engineering Degree
2. KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:
19. Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
20. Minimum of 5-10 years PFP Experience
21. Experience of managing/supervising technical personnel or leading projects.
22. Proven track record of commercial delivery.
23. Ability to interact with customers (Internal and External).
24. High level of Intumescent coatings knowledge (Essential).
25. Experience of Passive Fire Protection testing, assessments and certification (Essential).
