Overview
An excellent opportunity for a motivated and experienced environmental professional looking to advance their career. This role involves delivering practical, sustainable solutions and providing expert guidance during the construction phases of development projects. The successful candidate will be confident, technically skilled, and passionate about driving responsible environmental outcomes on-site.
Key Responsibilities
* Produce and contribute to construction phase environmental documents.
* Ensure site compliance with Site-Specific Environmental Management Plans and supporting method statements.
* Conduct site checks for protected and notable species.
* Investigate and report ecological incidents.
* Monitor and advise on pollution prevention measures.
* Complete and occasionally review ECoW logs and associated reports.
* Deliver toolbox talks to site teams and subcontractors.
* Liaise with stakeholders, statutory bodies, and relevant organisations.
* Mentor and train junior team members.
* Support team leads and managers in project scoping, tendering, and delivery.
* Ensure adherence to health and safety and biosecurity standards.
Candidate Requirements
* 2–5 years’ experience in ecological/environmental consultancy with a focus on construction site roles.
* Strong understanding of water environment regulations, environmental legislation, and relevant guidance.
* Proficiency in ecological survey techniques and protected species mitigation design.
* Practical experience in peat and surface water management on construction sites.
* Higher education qualification (Certificate or Degree) in a relevant environmental subject.
* Full, valid UK driving licence.
* Appropriate professional membership (or ability to obtain).
* Holder of a valid CSCS card.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and project management software.
* Holding protected species licences is desirable.
* 20 days per annum Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
* Paid professional membership.
