The Opportunity
FRP Corporate Finance is a team of approximately 100 professionals, including 21 partners, operating across the UK. The team closes around 85 transactions annually, primarily focused on private equity-backed businesses. Our Debt Advisory team delivers tailored financing solutions to clients across various sectors.
Following sustained growth, we seek a high-performing Associate Director to join our award-winning Debt Advisory team. This leadership role offers the chance to shape and execute complex financing strategies, mentor junior staff, and contribute to our practice's expansion.
The Role
As an Associate Director, you will manage and execute debt advisory mandates, contribute to business development, and manage client relationships. You will collaborate with partners and directors to deliver high-quality outcomes and support strategic growth.
Key responsibilities include:
* Leading debt advisory transactions, including structuring, negotiations, and documentation of financing solutions.
* Managing client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders in private equity and corporate clients.
* Preparing marketing materials, financial models, and client presentations.
* Providing strategic advice on capital structure optimization and financing strategies.
* Mentoring junior team members and guiding them on technical and commercial transaction aspects.
* Contributing to business development, including originating new mandates and participating in pitch processes.
* Maintaining relationships with key lenders, such as banks, debt funds, and alternative finance providers.
* Staying informed on market trends, regulations, and emerging financing structures.
Requirements:
* Significant experience (5+ years) in debt advisory, leveraged finance, or related fields.
* Proven track record in leading transactions and managing client relationships.
* Strong financial modelling and analytical skills.
* Excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of influencing senior stakeholders.
* Deep knowledge of debt markets, instruments, and legal documentation.
* Strategic, proactive, and commercially savvy mindset.
* Leadership qualities with a passion for talent development and fostering high performance.
