Role: Commercial and Procurement Lead
Type: Permanent, Full-Time
Salary: £48,894 to £62,253
Hybrid – 2 days onsite and 3 days WFH
Location: Nottinghamshire
Sellick Partnership is partnering with a public sector organisation to recruit a Commercial Lead on a permanent basis.
The responsibilities of the Commercial and Procurement Lead will be:
* Delivering strategic procurement activities including above-threshold procurements, frameworks, and quotations.
* Ensuring compliance with procurement legislation, policies, and best practice.
* Leading and developing a small team of 1 direct report, providing expert advice, coaching, and direction.
* Acting as principal advisor on commercial, contractual, and procurement matters.
* Managing and influencing key stakeholder relationships internally and externally to deliver value for money.
* Driving change and continuous improvement initiatives aligned to organisational goals.
* Representing the commercial team at regional and national forums when required.
* Leading complex procurement projects in a highly regulated environment.
The ideal candidate for the Commercial and Procurement Lead will have:
* MCIPS qualification (or be working towards) with substantial procurement and commercial experience.
* Strong knowledge of Public Contract Regulations, Procurement Act 2023, and Contract Law.
* Recent experience in Public Sector organisations is essential.
* Experience in IT Procurement would be desirable.
* Proven track record of leading and managing teams effectively.
* Experience in project management, ideally PRINCE2 or equivalent.
* Ability to handle complex workloads with conflicting deadlines.
* Strong influencing and stakeholder management skills within a political or regulated environment.
* Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex issues to non-technical stakeholders.
* A customer-focused approach with the ability to deliver innovative procurement solutions.
