About the Role
Location: Sutherland, NSW
Hours: Full Time | Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 5.30pm
Salary Package: $100,000 - $110,000
We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Forensic Engineer to join our diverse and collaborative team. This is a unique opportunity to apply your structural engineering expertise in a role that combines technical analysis, site inspections, and client advisory services.
You will be responsible for conducting detailed investigations into building defects and structural failures, preparing comprehensive forensic engineering reports, and providing expert advice to a diverse client base including strata managers, building owners, and legal professionals.
Key Responsibilities
* Conduct site inspections and coordinate with specialist service providers to assess forensic issues.
* Perform condition assessments and building defect audits, inclusive of the SBBIS (Strata Building Bond and Inspection Scheme).
* Prepare clear, concise, and technically sound forensic engineering reports.
* Provide expert advisory services to strata, building managers, homeowners, and commercial/industrial clients.
* Attend NCAT hearings and provide expert witness testimony when required.
* Collaborate with a team of experienced engineers and consultants.
* Maintain high standards of communication, both written and verbal, with clients and stakeholders.
About You
* 5–10 years of structural engineering experience within Australia
* A degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
* Strong technical knowledge of building structures and construction methods
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* A keen eye for detail and a methodical approach to problem-solving
* Experience in forensic investigations or building defect assessments (preferred)
* A current driver’s license and willingness to travel for site inspections.
