Associate - Real Estate - Agribusiness Focus - Cambridge

The role
Lex Exec is working on an associate opportunity within a well established agribusiness and rural property team in Cambridge. Our client is consistently top ranked in the legal directories and is recognised as a leading firm for agriculture and estates.
This is not high volume asset management work. The focus here is strategic land, estates and rural assets, often involving significant value and long term client relationships.
You will join a team that acts for landed estates, institutional landowners, rural businesses, charities and investors, advising on complex transactions across the agricultural and food production landscape.
The work is technical, relationship driven and commercially grounded.
What you will be doing
You will advise on a broad spread of rural and agribusiness real estate matters, including:
* Acquisitions and disposals of farms, estates and agricultural land
* Investment transactions and development led projects involving strategic land
* Agricultural and commercial tenancies in a rural context
* Farming structures and partnership arrangements
* Renewable energy schemes on rural land including solar, wind and battery storage
* Mineral and resource arrangements
* Secured lending and refinancing for landowners and rural enterprises
* Supporting on due diligence for larger strategic land and development projects
There is direct client and agent contact from an early stage. You will be encouraged to build long term relationships rather than operate purely as a technical support layer.
About you
* England and Wales qualified solicitor
* NQ to 2 PQE with solid real estate training
* Exposure to rural or agricultural property is advantageous but not essential
* Commercially aware with an interest in land use, food production, energy or natural resources
* Comfortable managing matters with appropriate supervision
* Clear drafting style and confident communicator
This would suit someone who enjoys tangible assets and long term land strategy work, rather than purely urban commercial property.
