Highly Specialist Speech & Language Therapist - Band 7
We are inviting you to apply for this exciting position in our Adult Speech and Language Therapy Service. We are a supportive and friendly team working across Bromley's community to provide services to patients in their homes, care homes, rehab beds, and outpatient clinics.
This role suits a dynamic, reflective therapist committed to excellent clinical care and being a positive team player. Our service encourages innovation and change, offering flexibility to foster creativity. Recent developments include a new community-led FEES service and a dedicated PD service integrating FEES and EMST in partnership with PDUK. We also manage dysfluency and voice caseloads, which we aim to expand, welcoming candidates with experience or interest in these areas to develop their skills and leadership.

Main duties of the job
Postgraduate training and experience in dysphagia are essential. Relevant experience managing adults with acquired swallowing and communication difficulties is required. Experience with FEES and managing a voice caseload is desirable.
You will contribute to line management, audit, and service development, with regular clinical supervision, team meetings, clinical forums, and CPD opportunities. Appropriate qualification and HCPC registration are mandatory. Driving and car access are essential for this role.
Salary depends on NHS experience and current banding/pay point.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Recognized speech & language therapy degree or equivalent
* HCPC registration
* CPD evidence
* Relevant training and leadership courses
* Membership of relevant CEN(s)
* Royal College of Speech & Language Therapists membership
* Recruitment and selection training
* Clinical supervision training
* Short course in voice disorders (e.g., the accent method, Estill)
Specific Skills
* High competence in managing complex dysphagia and communication cases
* Ability to handle emotional and psychosocial aspects of community SLT work
* Negotiation and problem-solving skills
* Teamwork and leadership capabilities
