Purpose of the role:
The Programme Manager sits within the IT function of interactive investor and is responsible for managing cross functional resources throughout the end to end programme/project lifecycle whilst maintaining overall responsibility for the delivery of a large project/workstream, or multiple medium/large projects/workstreams.
They will be tasked with developing and delivering large projects/workstreams to support ii strategic direction, as well as creating and managing long term goals, the role will responsible for supporting business case development and budgets, and accountable for developing project plans for relevant workstreams.
The assignments will typically be complex, long duration and large in size, including extensive cross functional engagement, with extensive business impact, including stakeholder management to Exec and Board Level
Requirements
Key Responsibilities:
• Accountable for the delivery of Programmes/Projects to scope, time, quality and budget
• Responsible for production of all Programme/Project deliverables and documentation, adhering at all times to the ii Governance policies
• Proactively plans and manages the Programmes/Projects, communicating variances to the key stakeholders
• Managing multiple departments, people and projects at the same time whilst adhering to the ii Change Governance model
• Identifies all project dependencies and risks, ensuring they are effectively managed
• Provides advice and guidance to senior business partners as required regarding best practices in Programme and Project management
• Control Programme/Project scope and any changes using established change management processes
• Ensure budgets are tracked and managed and that any identified deviations are escalated
• Identify and allocate resources required to deliver Programme/Project
• Investigates, escalates and ensures that all Programme/Project issues are effectively resolved
• Supports an ethos of “continuous improvement”
• Effectively and professionally manages vendor relationships
• Treat clients fairly at all times
• Maintain the first line of compliance defence by ensuring individual adherence to business processes and procedures that are designed to meet the regulatory standards set out in the relevant FCA rules and guidance
• Maintain the first line of defence by operating risk controls assigned to the individual
• Use the training and competence scheme to maintain the appropriate knowledge, skills and expertise to carry out the role competently
• Coaching and mentoring of Junior Project Managers
• Make informed risk decisions and effectively and credibly debate and challenge management recommendations within your role in line with the approved Risk Appetite Framework
Skills & Experience Required:
• Extensive experience in change delivery and project management with a proven track record of delivery
• Extensive stakeholder management skills to Board and Exec Level
• Extensive end to end business process knowledge
• Extensive experience of designing and implementing business process improvement
• Detailed understanding of budgets and financial management, including associated reporting
• Extensive knowledge and experience of the Financial Services industry
• Understanding of building and deploying software and associated transition to support activities
• Extensive experience and understanding of MS Project, other MS software and multiple collaboration tools e.g. Confluence, Slack etc
• Must have a wide range of technical skills to be able to bring together various technical teams in the production of a clear, achievable, cost-effective and supportable implementation
• Detailed understanding of IT & Business Change practices, procedures and principles of Programme delivery (MSP), and Project Management (Prince2) to enable the management of multiple concurrent large/complex projects
• Understanding of project delivery lifecycles using structured project waterfall and agile methodologies, and importantly how to integrate waterfall style deadlines within an agile organisation
• Advanced Programme and Project Management skills, use of structured, formal methods e.g.;
• MSP Qualified
• Prince 2 practitioner, APMP or PMP qualified
