Position Overview
Reporting to the Associate Director/Associate Engineer, you will lead large Civil project teams or oversee multiple smaller teams to achieve overall business objectives. This role requires strong leadership and technical expertise to ensure the successful delivery of projects to cost, schedule, and quality criteria.
Candidate Profile
We are looking for a well-rounded civil engineer with broad experience across multiple aspects of civil engineering, including earthworks, drainage, highways, and external works. The ideal candidate will be capable of managing diverse projects and adapting to various engineering challenges.
Key Objectives
1. Ensure project teams deliver civil designs to cost, schedule, and quality criteria.
2. Ensure project teams have in place appropriate skills and resources.
3. Ensure compliance with business quality and management systems.
4. Implement change as directed by the Director and Associate Engineer.
Skills & Experience
* Degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent).
* Chartered Civil/Structural Engineer CEng MICE/MIStructE.
* Familiar with current C&S design codes & standards.
* Experience with CDM and health and safety regulations.
* Comprehensive knowledge of civil and structural design, including:
o Building Structures
o Drainage and external works
o Foundations & Sub-Structures
o Earthworks and site investigations
o Minor road and bridge design
o Specialist knowledge in sectors like nuclear, seismic, public sector, contaminated land, ground improvement, highways, Rail, defence & Life Sciences
* Proven track record of successful project delivery and client satisfaction.
* Experience with sectors relevant to our operations.
* Familiar with technical standards and assurance processes.
* Ability to work within a fully integrated, multi-discipline design team.
