You'll play a pivotal role in developing BD plans, managing multi-channel communications, and supporting key practice areas across a variety of initiatives-from client engagement and content creation to events and external profile-raising.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic BD Planning: Collaborate with BDM Managers to design and implement business development strategies that align with firm-wide priorities and drive growth in targeted legal practice areas.
Marketing Campaign Execution: Lead the rollout of multi-channel marketing campaigns, managing timelines, content development, and delivery across digital and print platforms to achieve high engagement and visibility.
Content Development & Quality Assurance: Write, edit, and refine a variety of BD and marketing materials-including creds packs, proposals, event collateral, video scripts, and podcasts. Serve as a final reviewer to uphold standards and accuracy.
Digital & Multimedia Coordination: Manage production workflows for video and podcast content in collaboration with internal teams or external providers, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with campaign goals.
Event Management: Partner with colleagues across the BDM team to plan, promote, and execute client events, thought leadership sessions, and firm-wide initiatives. Own logistical details from invite creation to post-event follow-up.
Client Program Support: Help deliver structured client engagement programmes and drive forward key projects such as the firm's Commercial Client Task Force objectives.
Practice Group Enablement: Provide tailored BD support to three key legal groups, helping them shape their market position and communicate their value to existing and prospective clients.
Website & Digital Platform Support: Assist with the launch and continued development of the firm's new website, contributing to content, functionality, and quality control as part of the digital growth strategy.
Research & Reporting: Prepare ad hoc reports and conduct targeted research on market trends, client behaviours, and competitor insights to inform strategic decisions.
Directory Submissions: Support the delivery of high-quality legal directory entries and award submissions, coordinating input and maintaining timelines.
Team Collaboration & Development: Mentor junior colleagues, providing guidance and feedback on deliverables. Support professional development and contribute to a high-performing, collaborative team culture.
Proposal Support: Assist with complex pitch documents and tenders under the direction of the Proposals & Client Intelligence Manager, applying commercial awareness and creative input.
Cross-Team Support: Provide ad hoc support across the BDM team on additional strategic projects as required, maintaining flexibility and responsiveness.
The successful candidate for this role will have proven business development experience in a law firm environment.
