Due to ongoing expansion, a rare and exciting opportunity has arisen for a Client-Side Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our team in Head Office.
Working as part of our development team, and reporting directly to the Development Director, you will be responsible for running a number of development projects from inception to completion. The projects are predominantly within Purpose Built Student Accommodation and Co-Living developments, as well as a number of commercial development projects.

* Vega, our 841-bed Student scheme, in Vauxhall, London
* The Mont, a 341-bedroom PBSA scheme in Edinburgh City Centre
* Miles Yard, a purpose-built, Grade A office scheme, circa 28,000 ft², in Vauxhall, London
* Grade A refurbishment of No.1 Old Hall Street, a 65,000 ft², multi-tenanted commercial scheme in Liverpool City Centre.
We are also developing one of the largest residential developments in the UK – Square Gardens, at First Street, Manchester, which is to provide 2,224 apartment beds, along with a host of commercial retail/leisure suites to let, including one of the largest outdoor spaces in the city connected to a residential offering.
Roles and Responsibilities
* Providing initial cost advice to aid in the assessment of potential PBSA/residential opportunities.
* Preparing accurate and detailed cost plans to establish the project budget.
* Managing the project cost plan from inception, through contract award, to practical completion.
* Ensuring risks have been considered and managed, and costs are accurate to inform funding requests.
* Being commercially responsible for on-site schemes, including cost reporting, value engineering, cash flows, dispute resolution, cost control, and account management.
* Overseeing the production of tender documentation and managing contractor and supply chain relationships.
* Knowledge of Construction Contracts, especially JCT D&B contracts.
* Negotiating and overseeing construction contracts, retentions, bonds, warranties, and other contractual documents.
* Agreeing final accounts in line with Board-approved levels.
Key Requirements
* Preferably MRICS Qualified with a minimum of 5 years post-qualification experience.
* Experience working within the living sector is desirable but not essential.
* Ability to build relationships and influence internal and external stakeholders.
* Ability to travel throughout the UK with a full driving license.
* Self-motivated with the ability to work on own initiative and within a team.
* Strong negotiation, influencing, and communication skills, with a willingness to participate and present in meetings at various levels.
