Job Description:
Your new company
This company is an established charity that provides a range of specialist abuse support services to women, men, and children across the West Midlands region. Their holistic, trauma-informed support enables victims to escape violence and abuse, cope with trauma, and build resilience.
Your new role
Your role will be to work as part of an advisory team that provides a high-quality frontline domestic abuse support service to those at high risk of harm. The Independent Domestic Violence Advisors support victims of domestic abuse by assessing the level of risk, informing victims of their options, and developing tailored safety plans to protect the victim and their children. The role involves empowering victims/survivors, helping them recognize the dynamics of domestic abuse in their situation through one-to-one support and group work, all aimed at helping them regain control.
What you'll need to succeed
This is a critical role requiring experience in managing a caseload of vulnerable service users, ideally victims of domestic violence, though not essential. You should have experience working with empathy, passion, effective communication, caseload management, a client-centered approach, and proactive crisis intervention.
Only female applicants will be considered for this role, and a full UK driving licence with access to a car is also required.
What you'll get in return
This is an excellent opportunity to work for a charity that supports victims of domestic violence in the local area. The salary is up to £27,781 per annum, plus employee benefits, which are very competitive. There are also numerous opportunities for progression.
