Role Overview:
Our client is a growing fast paced and energetic creative agency with a focus on clients within the beauty and wellness arena.
The Junior Financial Controller will be a main point of contact for all things financial and who's role is key day to day running of the business. The Junior Financial Controller must establish strong working relationships with the wider business and the senior management team both in the UK and US. This role is integral to the business and the candidate will therefore be an expert on all finance related matters, particularly with regard to billing, payment and cost/spend status across various projects. The position requires gravitas, diligence, positivity, integrity, proactivity and enthusiasm, which should inspire others and instil confidence that the advice and information provided is both accurate and in the best interests of the business and its Clients.
The Junior Financial Controller must show a high degree of objectivity and be the person who upholds policy, without inhibiting the commercial performance of the business. The candidate must also have the ability to mentor and guide their team of 4 to ensure they progress and support as needed.
Roles & Responsibilities:
* Maintaining and coordinating the accounting cycle
* Maintain the financial records of the relevant companies in a timely and accurate manner.
* Performing balance sheet accounts reconciliations
* WIP analysis and reconciliation
* Preparation and production of accurate monthly management accounts and supporting information in a timely manner.
* Producing the monthly P&L and forecast with comprehensive analysis and explanation of
* variances.
* Understanding of the required data to ensure a smooth consolidation process of the Group
* accounts including necessary eliminations together with Group entity accounting
* Support the FD in preparing budget and forecast documents, including capex & cashflow forecast and in general the financial planning and analysis.
* Provision of information to external auditors
* Review and finalisation of VAT, P11Ds and PSA calculation
* Supervise and mentor Junior Finance Team ( 4)
* Training non finance Team on Timesheets/POs / Expense Claims/ Job Bags
* Carry out other ad hoc duties as required.
Essential Qualifications and Experience
* Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines.
* Newly Qualified Accountant ACCA, CIMA, (ACA with some commercial
* experience)
* Strong commercial acumen
* Strong Excel skills
* Excellent interpersonal skills
* A proactive and driven individual who is eager to learn and develop their skillset.
* Excellent communication skills, working with both finance
* Paprika experience essential
* Industry experience essential
