Job Summary
The Prescription Administrator will support daily operations, ensuring smooth communication between departments and accurate record‑keeping within the practice. The role is part‑time permanent at East Shore Partnership, located at St Cuthbert’s Church, Hayling Avenue, Portsmouth.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide first‑class customer service for medication and prescription queries, both internally and externally.
* Safely review, verify and process medication prescriptions accurately and in a timely fashion.
* Escalate prescriptions or queries that fall outside your scope and access the wider clinical team for support.
* Maintain accurate patient records on SystmOne and ensure confidentiality of information.
* Issue repeat prescriptions and discharge/clinic letters in line with practice protocols.
* Comply with legal regulations for controlled drugs prescriptions.
* Expedite urgent prescriptions and notify prescribers when prescriptions are ready for signing.
* Action discharge, out‑patient and clinic letters from external providers.
* Delegate prescription tasks to other staff where appropriate.
* Liaise with community pharmacies on supply issues and alert clinicians of any problems.
* Assist in developing new protocols and improving the repeat prescription service.
* Provide support and training to staff on the repeat prescription process.
* Carry out audits of the repeat prescribing process and relevant searches on medicines.
* Manage prescriptions for NOMADs/Intermediate Care Pharmacist referrals and complete required reports.
* Support the ongoing supply of prescriptions for patients with special arrangements.

Qualifications & Experience
* Minimum of English & Maths GCSE C or equivalent.
* Previous work on repeat prescriptions and discharge/clinic letters.
* Competent on SystmOne.
* Experience working in a GP practice is a plus.
Additional Information
Salary: £16,293.64 per year. Permanent contract, part‑time. Closing date: 12 June 2026.
