Overview
Plant Manager – Middlesbrough, United Kingdom. Part of the Middlesbrough Operations Management team, responsible for the day-to-day delivery of the production programme on the Middlesbrough production plants, maximizing plant throughput while maintaining high safety standards and planning logistics for smooth transitions between processes.
Responsibilities
* Day to day operation and management of a chemical production unit and other site activities
* Plant modifications and improvements
* Contributing to the development and commissioning of new products and processes
* Following, reviewing and improving operating procedures
* Developing and issuing plant batch card instructions
* Performance mentoring of process operating teams
* Providing technical support into process development and optimisation
* Leading Root Cause Investigations into incidents and near misses
* Increasing quality and reliability of plant and processes
* Lead or assisting with process improvement projects
* Provide any relevant training to process operating teams
* Investigating and troubleshooting plant/process problems
* Scheduling and coordinating activities on the production unit to achieve standard production rates
* Ensuring that equipment works to its specification and to appropriate capacities
* Participating in advanced troubleshooting and coaching others to learn these skills
Qualifications and Skills
* Strong safety leadership
* Minimum of a 2:1 degree in Chemical Engineering
* Relevant experience in a similar position
* Six Sigma methodology would be an advantage
* Full UK driving license
* Eligibility to work in the UK
* Excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills
* Good IT skills
