We are recruiting to the post of Senior Sister/Charge Nurse within our In-Patient Unit. We are looking for someone who is able to support and lead a team of staff to provide high quality, evidence-based care. Main duties of the job
As a Senior Sister/Charge Nurse you will be expected to: Effectively manage the running of the ward including quality, safety and budgeting. Lead on the management of the staff including attendance and performance management, appraisal, support/pastoral care and roster. Provide and participate in Clinical Supervision. Be an enthusiastic and supportive role model, implementing evidence based practice. Work as part of the Hospice team maintaining our CQC Outstanding rating.

Person Specification
Experience
 * Demonstrable senior nursing experience in palliative care
 * Experience of effective line management and supervision
 * Teaching to a diverse range of professionals and disciplines in a variety of settings
Desirable
 * Budgetary management
 * Application for funding/bid writing
 * Managing a ward environment
 * Teaching to a diverse range of professionals and disciplines in a variety of settings
Qualifications
 * First Level Registered Nurse current registration with NMC
 * Health related degree or evidence of study at this level
 * Evidence of study in specialist palliative care or willing to work towards
 * Advanced communication skills or willing to work towards
 * Teaching and assessing qualification or willing to work towards
 * Evidence of continuing professional development
Desirable
 * Evidence of Masters level study
 * Leadership/management training
Additional Criteria
 * Good standard of IT literacy
