Your new role
As a Quantity Surveyor, you will play a key role in managing the financial aspects of construction projects, ensuring profitability, and cost control. You will be responsible for accurately estimating costs, managing contracts, and providingmercial support throughout the project lifecycle.
Responsibilities:
1. Prepare accurate cost estimates, budgets, and tender documents formercial and residential construction projects.
2. Conduct detailed cost analysis, identifying areas for cost optimisation and value engineering.
3. Manage and negotiate contracts with subcontractors, suppliers, and clients, ensuringpliance with project requirements.
4. Monitor project costs, providing regular cost reports and forecasts to senior management.
5. Evaluate and negotiate variations, claims, and settlements with stakeholders.
6. Collaborate closely with project teams, including architects, engineers, and contractors, to addressmercial issues and mitigate risks.
7. Ensurepliance with contractual obligations and monitor contract performance.
8. Providemercial support and guidance throughout the project lifecycle, including procurement, cost control, and contract administration.
9. Stay up-to-date with industry trends, regulations, and best practices in quantity surveying.
10. Maintain accurate project documentation, including records of variations, claims, and contract correspondence.
What you'll need to succeed
11. Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor in residential builds is essential.
12. Strong knowledge of quantity surveying practices, including cost control, procurement, and contract administration.
13. Proven ability to prepare accurate cost estimates and budgets, ensuring profitability and cost control.
14. Excellent understanding of construction contracts, such as JCT and NEC.
15. Strong negotiation andmunication skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders.
16. Proficiency in using quantity surveying software and tools.
17. Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
18. Relevant degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field.
