Job Purpose
To support the Quality Control team in ensuring the consistency, stability, and performance of UV inks through routine testing, analysis, and laboratory administration. This role is ideal for someone starting their career in a laboratory environment with a keen interest in ink technology and quality assurance.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Control & Testing
* Conduct routine quality control testing of UV inks to ensure compliance with product specifications.
* Perform stability testing on manufactured ink batches over time.
* Carry out UV dispersion testing to assess pigment dispersion quality and consistency.
* Test in-process batches and assist in raw material adjustments as required.
* Record and report test results accurately and promptly.
Laboratory Administration
* Maintain detailed records of all tests, results, and adjustments.
* Assist in preparing samples and documentation for internal and external audits.
* Support inventory management of lab consumables and chemicals.
Equipment Maintenance & Calibration
* Perform regular maintenance and calibration of laboratory instruments (e.g., viscometers, spectrophotometers, balances).
* Ensure all equipment is functioning correctly and report any faults or issues.
Health & Safety Compliance
* Follow all laboratory safety protocols and procedures.
* Ensure proper handling and disposal of chemicals and materials.
Essential
Qualifications & Skills:
* A-Level or equivalent qualification in Chemistry, Science, or related field.
* Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures accurately.
* Good communication and record-keeping skills.
* Basic understanding of laboratory equipment and safety practices.
Desirable
* Previous experience in a lab environment (e.g., internship, placement, or academic lab work).
* Familiarity with UV ink technology or printing industry processes.
Working Conditions
