CAD Designer
Location: Preston, Lancashire (Office-based, with flexibility post-probation)
Salary: Up to £40,000 (flexible for exceptional candidates)
About the Opportunity
We’re working with a growing, engineering-led business that specialises in designing and delivering high-performance computing and hardware solutions across a range of advanced technical environments.
Due to continued growth and internal changes, they’re now looking to bring in a CAD Designer to support the design and development of bespoke systems and infrastructure.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on design work and wants to develop their career within a fast-paced, scaling business.
The Role
You’ll play a key role in designing components and systems used within custom-built hardware and infrastructure environments, working closely with engineering and operational teams.
This role would suit someone who:

Key Responsibilities
* Create and develop 3D CAD models and technical drawings
* Design components for mechanical and hardware-based systems
* Work on sheet metal designs and manufacturing-ready outputs
* Support the integration of technical components into physical systems
* Collaborate with internal teams on product development and improvements
* Contribute to ongoing optimisation of design processes
Requirements
* Experience using SolidWorks (or similar 3D CAD software)
* Background in mechanical / product / CAD design
* Understanding of:
* Sheet metal design
* Manufacturing processes
* Core engineering principles
* Ability to translate requirements into practical, buildable designs
* Portfolio or examples of previous work (highly beneficial)
