Care Home: To cover homes our homes in the North
Hours per week: 40
Salary: £35,000 per annum
About the role:
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Regional Support Chef to join our Group Hospitality team. You will work with our Group Hospitality and Catering Manager to develop training and support materials for the catering teams in our care homes. As a Regional Support Chef, youll play a crucial role in maintaining high culinary standards across our care homes. You'll step in to support Head Chefs during absences, assist with new openings or audits, and ensure consistent delivery of tasty, well-balanced meals tailored to residents needs.
Key duties and responsibilities:
* Develop training and support materials to drive quality and compliance around food and cooking quality.
* Take on food related projects and manage cross functional food initiatives.
* Liaise with the Group Hospitality Manager to create regular chef's forums and training sessions to cover the needs of the home you are supporting.
* To audit the kitchen operations to ensure that the food quality, presentation, and service are provided to the appropriate standards as defined by the catering policies and mealtime standards.
* To develop and maintain good working relationships with the homes management and kitchen teams through regular personal contact.

The successful candidate will have:
* Proven experience as a Chef, ideally in a care or healthcare setting
* A flexible and adaptable approach with strong organisational skills
* Genuine interest in working within a caring environment
* Ability to communicate effectively at all levels
* Team player
* Willingness to participate in vocational training programmes
* Satisfactory DBS result and good references
* Experience of the provision of catering services, food preparation and presentation
* Understanding of food hygiene regulation
This is a field based role and will require the successful candidate to travel to any of our homes across the North.
