What you’ll do
Every day, you’ll help create memorable moments for visitors from all over the world, whether they’re discovering the Cathedral’s rich heritage, attending a service, or enjoying concerts, exhibitions and special events.
You’ll be responsible for greeting visitors, encouraging charitable donations and helping ensure the Cathedral remains a safe, welcoming, and inspiring place to be. Your work will help sustain the Cathedral’s mission – both practically and financially.
* Deliver a high‑quality welcome to everyone who comes through our doors
* Proactively encourage visitor donations, meeting agreed targets
* Ensure the Cathedral looks its best by maintaining presentation standards across the floor
* Assist with ticketing, merchandise sales, and front‑of‑house operations for Cathedral events
Who we’re looking for
You’re a people‑person who takes pride in creating a welcoming experience for everyone. You’ll have:
* Confidence in engaging with a wide range of visitors, ensuring high standards of visitor service are delivered
* Experience in a public‑facing role, ideally within a heritage, cultural, religious, or visitor attraction setting
* An interest in arts, culture, or heritage
* Confidence working collaboratively with different teams and contributors
* Part‑time: 17.5 hours per week
* Fixed term: 24 months
* Salary:£12,239 per annum. Chichester Cathedral is committed to paying the Real Living Wage
* Worth noting: This role will require regular weekend working, periodic evening working and a flexible approach to working hours at busy times.
