As the new Head of Capital, you will provide strong and inspirational leadership to promote the provision of excellent Estates Services and in particular services provided by the Capital Team in complex, acute and Community settings in one of the largest NHS Foundation Trusts in the country. You will be joining at a great time to shape and then develop your own team, working closely with the Director of Estates and as a part of the Estates Directorate Senior team. It's a role requiring strong project management skills and excellent team leadership experience gained working in the NHS or as a contractor to the NHS, or in a similarly complex system role that operates at scale, such as higher education, central government or local authorities.
Main duties of the job
The Head of Capital is accountable to our Estates Director, Carl Henniker, and will deliver the interpretation of National directives, broad Department of Health and Social Care Policies, legal requirements such as the Building Safety Act, and Trust priorities within the Capital Management function.
You will be responsible for assisting with the development of the Trust's Capital Programme where this impacts directly or indirectly on the built environment and the broader estate.You will also be accountable for delivering the Estates Capital Programme portfolio across all of Sheffield Teaching Hospitals, including Community premises. This includes major capital schemes, maintenance backlog schemes and compliance schemes.
You will lead the delivery of all Estates related schemes within Trust's Capital programme and for ensuring that these are delivered to agreed budgets, time and quality, comply with legal requirements such as the Building Safety Act and are appropriately managed to recognised methodologies, patient focused, safe, efficient and effective.
