'Commis Chef & Kitchen Porter' at Driftwood Spars is an essential role in the business, we are located in Cornwall. This position plays a crucial part in maintaining the kitchen's efficiency and cleanliness, contributing to our mission of providing exceptional dining experiences.
Responsibilities
* Assist in food preparation and cooking under the guidance of chefs.
* Maintain cleanliness and organisation of kitchen areas.
* Ensure compliance with food safety standards.
* Support team members in daily kitchen operations.
* Handle dishwashing and equipment cleaning efficiently.
* Assist with inventory management and stock rotation.
* Collaborate with chefs to enhance service quality.
* Participate in training new kitchen staff as needed.
* Qualifications
* Previous kitchen or food preparation experience is preferable but not essential.
* Knowledge of food safety regulations and practices.
* Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
* Strong teamwork skills and a positive attitude.
* Basic culinary skills are preferred but not required.
* Flexibility to assist in various kitchen tasks as needed.
Ideal position for someone who wants to start a career as a chef.
Will cover KP holiday shifts as well as assist with kitchen prep.
Pay will depend on age & experience.
