Job Title: Design Engineer - Air and Fuel Systems\n\nRate: £36-£43 p/hr (depending on experience)\n\nLocation: Peterborough, Cambridgeshire\n\nThe Opportunity\n\nAs a Design Engineer for Air and Fuel Systems in the Component Engineering department, you'll be responsible for delivering high-quality, reliable air and fuel system components - from concept through to production. \n\nEssential Skills:\n\nA degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent experience)\n6-8 years of relevant engineering experience\nSolid understanding of mechanical fundamentals and engine components/systems\nExperience of using CAD (Creo) to design powertrain components: Internal combustion reciprocating engines.\nExpertise in fuel system, air system, EGR system and turbochargers\nAbility to use simulation tools for self-analysis of what they are creating.Key Responsibilities\n\nDeliver component development projects within time, cost, and quality targets\nLead and participate in design reviews to gain business support and approval\nDevelop specifications and collaborate with suppliers to ensure robust design and delivery\nConduct FMEA assessments and coordinate simulation and validation (DVP&R) activities\nInvestigate technical issues using 8D problem-solving methods\nUnderstand customer requirements and translate them into effective design solutions\nPrepare and review technical documentation to support production release\nEngage with global teams to implement solutions at manufacturing facilities\nPromote continuous improvement using Lean principles \n\nDesirable:\n\nExperience with fuel systems, air systems, EGR systems, or turbochargers\nFamiliarity with APQP, FMEA, and DVP&R processes\nBackground in the off-highway diesel engine sector\nExperience in simulation and test-based component development \n\nPlease apply for more information
