About the Role
We are urgently seeking an experienced Payroll Administrator for an immediate temp-to-perm opportunity based in Watford. This is a key support role within a busy payroll team, processing payroll for approximately 3,000 employees on a monthly basis.
The successful candidate must have proven end-to-end experience with SAP Payroll, as well as a strong understanding of UK payroll legislation, statutory payments, and HMRC reporting.
Key Responsibilities
* End-to-end processing of monthly payroll using SAP for approximately 3,000 UK employees
* Ensure accurate calculation and processing of starters, leavers, bonuses, pensions, benefits, and statutory payments (SSP, SMP, etc.)
* Liaise with HR and Finance teams to ensure payroll accuracy and resolve any discrepancies
* Process payroll changes including salary adjustments, tax code changes, and deductions
* Support the reconciliation of payroll and resolve variances in a timely manner
* Respond to employee queries regarding payroll and benefits
* Maintain and update payroll records in line with GDPR requirements
* Support month-end and year-end payroll tasks including P60s, P11Ds, and RTI submissions
* Assist with payroll reporting for internal and external stakeholders
Key Requirements
* Proven experience with end-to-end SAP Payroll (essential)
* Strong understanding of UK payroll legislation and statutory requirements
* Ability to manage high-volume payrolls with accuracy and attention to detail
* Strong Excel and data reconciliation skills
* Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
* Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines
