Lead Piping Designer – Addison Project, Harlow
Job Type: Contract Outside IR35. Start: Spring 2026. Location: Harlow, Essex with travel to site in Home Countries.
Services To Be Provided
Piping design management of the full design process from concept through to construction, including pipe support design, scopes of work, relaying information to the piping design team, checking other designers’ work, and communication with sub contractors and vendors. Design of piping systems using AutoCAD Plant 3D is also required.
Experience Required
* Demonstrated experience as a Principal or Senior Piping Designer or Team Lead who has led projects or design teams for onshore UK projects in the process sector.
* Experience within the process industry (chemical, petrochemical, food & beverage, oil & gas).
* Excellent communication, leadership and mentoring skills; confident in liaising with external and internal customers.
* AutoCAD Plant 3D experience.
* Up-to-date knowledge of relevant UK standards.
* Ability to utilise laser scan point clouds.
* Experience completing site surveys, creating reports and scopes of work.
* Confidence in writing scopes of work for piping installation.
* Capability to produce and validate General Arrangement, Isometric and Pipe Support drawings.
* Experience of complying design and installation estimates.
* Client-facing experience where you have been the main discipline point of contact for new and existing scopes.
