Position Overview
We have an exciting opportunity for a Technical Operator to join Norgine. The person holding this position will report to the packaging team leader and be a member of the production packaging team.
This is a 4 on 4 off 12 hour shift pattern.
Role Purpose
This is an operations-focused role, with a link to the Maintenance function. The key requirement of the Technical Operator is to keep the line running efficiently and ensure quality product is packed ready for distribution. When the line is running efficiently, the Tech Op’s time is likely to be spent 90% on operational tasks (operator duties) and 10% on engineering tasks. The technical activities will be defined into 3 levels; operators will be trained and assessed in each of these tasks and progress through the levels once trained and assessed.
The Technical Operator is responsible for all aspects of the area including Health and Safety, Quality, GMP/Compliance, Schedule adherence, and continuous improvement.
Skills & Experience Required
1. Production line experience on high-speed packaging equipment in Pharmaceutical, food, or chemical environment.
2. A proven background of delivering the Tech Op key responsibilities internally from an Norgine operator role.
3. A sound knowledge of GMP, GDP, and Pharmacovigilance principles.
4. Application of Health and Safety principles.
5. Manual Handling skills and application.
6. Mechanical engineering training BTEC, ONC, HNC (required for level 3 only).
7. The use of Pedestrian Electrical/Hand pallet trucks.
8. Analytical skills with a drive to implement improvements.
9. Ability to work to stretching targets.
10. Awareness of, and experience in a KPI-focused environment.
Technical Professional Qualifications Required for Level 3 Roles
* Time Served Engineer.
* Trained to a Mechanical and/or Electrical craft level.
* NVQ level 4 or above or equivalent qualification.
