Occupational Therapy Assistant at Priory Hospital Roehampton
Priory Hospital Roehampton is seeking a dedicated Occupational Therapy Assistant to join our team. This is a full-time position (37.5 hours/week) at our renowned rehab facility in London, specializing in mental health and addiction treatment.
Our hospital offers tailored care for various mental health challenges, including depression, anxiety, and substance and behavioral addictions. We support adults with eating disorders through outpatient services. Our compassionate team of psychiatrists, psychologists, therapists, nurses, and mental health professionals is committed to patient wellbeing. Responsibilities
* Assist occupational therapists with implementing treatment plans to develop, recover, or maintain patients' daily living and work skills.
* Support patients in performing therapeutic exercises and activities to enhance physical, mental, or emotional abilities.
* Monitor and document patient progress, reporting observations to supervising therapists.
* Prepare and maintain therapy equipment and workspaces for safety and effectiveness.
* Educate patients and families on therapeutic techniques and assistive devices to promote independence outside therapy sessions.
Candidate Requirements
* Associate degree from an accredited occupational therapy assistant program.
* Current licensure or certification as required by state regulations.
* Prior clinical experience, including internships or practicums in rehabilitation or healthcare settings, is highly desirable.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
* Adaptability in implementing individualized treatment plans to meet diverse patient needs.
