Job Overview
We are looking for an enthusiastic and compassionate Principal Psychologist/ Psychological Therapist to join a well‑established psychology department for inpatient and crisis services in NELFT. The team is innovative and dedicated, actively involved in the development and delivery of best‑practice, evidence‑based psychological care for people experiencing mental health crisis. We work closely with psychiatric liaison, forensic services and multidisciplinary teams across NELFT. We welcome applicants from all backgrounds. NELFT has invested heavily in psychological leadership, and psychologists contribute to clinical leadership at Board level.
Responsibilities
* Provide psychological consultation, supervision and clinical leadership to pathways in the Acute and Rehabilitation Directorate (ARD).
* Maintain a clinical caseload.
* Offer clinical supervision to qualified, trainee and assistant psychologists based in inpatient services and the home treatment teams.
* Collaborate with service users, carers and communities to coproduce services and keep pace with change.
* Emphasise relational care across crisis services.

Key Details
Starting: First Monday of each month, two‑week induction including mandatory training, systems training and equipment allocation. Induction held at the head office in Rainham, Essex.
Probationary period applies; internal applicants exempt unless currently in a probationary period or a bank member.
High‑cost area supplement: 15% of the basic salary (15% of £4,714‑£5,941 per annum pro‑rata for part‑time).
