# Event Manager## Job IntroductionTeam DescriptionThe Council’s Culture, Policy & Events Service is responsible for the delivery of the Council’s Cultural Events & Festivals Programme, Cultural Partnerships, its Arts, Culture and Heritage Grants Programme, Visit Bradford, UNESCO City of Film in addition to Place Marketing. The team was integral to the successful delivery of UK City of Culture 2025 and works alongside the Bradford Culture Company supporting the delivery of the district’s City of Culture legacy. It leads on Culture Is Our Plan, the 10-year cultural strategy for the Bradford District 2021-2031.Role Description**We are seeking an Event Manager to cover a period of maternity leave, to support the work of its established Culture, Policy & Events Team.****They will need to be enthusiastic, committed, enabling with a can-do attitude.****As this post is suitable for secondment, interested internal applicants need to have secured the secondment agreement with their manager prior to the application****.** The main responsibilities of this post are:* To be lead on the direct delivery of Council events and activities and to support colleagues in delivery of exceptional one-off events in the district.* To deal with enquiries and requests regarding commercial and event activity, to maintain an accurate clash diary and to provide expert and coordinated advice, support and guidance to the commercial and independent sector in their creation and delivery of events and festivals.* To be responsible for the smooth running of the department’s events and activities including overall decision making and duty management for the commercial, festival and events programme and to play an active and engaged role in the work of the team, attending and reporting back on funded events, deputising at meetings when required.
