Job Duties:
1. Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for students with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
2. Support the classroom teacher in delivering tailored learning activities to meet the needs of SEN students.
3. Provide one-to-one or small group support to students with SEN to help them achieve their learning goals.
4. Assist with the management of student behaviour and engagement within the classroom setting.
5. Collaborate with other professionals, such as educational psychologists and speech therapists, to support SEN students effectively.
Required Qualifications:
1. Level 2 or 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools or equivalent.
2. Understanding of SEN strategies and best practises in an educational setting.
3. Enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) clearance.
Education:
Minimum of GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths.
Experience:
Prior experience working with children or young people with SEN is desirable.
Knowledge and Skills:
1. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
2. Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
3. Patience, empathy, and understanding towards students with SEN.
Preferred Qualifications:
1. Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools.
2. First Aid certification.
Working Conditions:
1. Work primarily within a school setting.
2. Full-time hours, Monday to Friday.
3. May involve some physical activity and lifting.
