Operations Manager (Warehousing)
Reports to Commercial Director
Key Responsibilities:
Own day-to-day operations across warehousing, driving and logistics, ensuring stock flows smoothly from receipt to dispatch while leading and developing high-performing teams.
Overall responsibilities:
* Team leadership & line management – recruit, develop and motivate warehouse operatives and drivers; set clear objectives and run effective performance reviews
* Goods-in / goods-out oversight – design and lead processes that guarantee accurate, timely receipt, put-away, picking, and dispatch
* Inventory control – maintain optimal stock accuracy and availability through cycle counts, root-cause analysis of variances and continuous process improvement
* Performance management – Track daily, weekly and monthly KPI’s across your responsibilities and implement corrective actions to hit targets
* Health & safety ownership – Champion a safety-first culture and ensure full compliance with legal and company standards
* Cross-functional coordination – Work collaboratively with Fulfilment Manager, Sales, CS, Purchasing and Accounts teams to ensure capacity meets demand
Measures of Success:
* Goods consistently move through the operation accurately and on time
* Deliveries reach customers on time, in full, undamaged – meeting or exceeding promised service standards
* Stock levels remain reliable and support customer demand
* Operational KPI’s and costs stay on or ahead of agreed targets
* A safe, legally compliant workplace is maintained with minimal incidents
* Warehouse and driver teams are engaged, productive and retained
