This position is only open to Current UWA staff.
Part-time (0.5 FTE) appointment on a fixed term basis for 5 years as a secondment from a substantive UWA role.
Base salary range: Level E, $222,129 p.a. (pro-rata) plus 17% superannuation.
An additional allowance to reflect additional duties applies to this role (pro-rata).
About the area
The UWA Data Institute leverages UWA’s expertise in data-driven research and innovation to facilitate collaboration between academia, industry, government, and the community. It serves as a gateway into data science and AI research at UWA, enabling strategic cross-disciplinary research and providing significant engagement opportunities across UWA, industry, and the community.
About the opportunity
Provide direction and coordination of the Data Institute’s strategy, working with key partners internally and externally to grow capability and support world-class research collaboration.
Lead the development of the UWA Data Institute and support its strategic growth.
About you
* PhD in a relevant field with an internationally recognized track record.
* Proven leadership with vision, ability to drive strategy, inspire teams, and foster a culture of collaboration, integrity, and inclusion.
* Strong strategic and analytical skills.
* Experience leading multidisciplinary research.
* Active participation in national and international data-driven research networks and initiatives addressing global challenges.
