Job Summary
If you enjoy working with data and get a kick out of getting everything neatly sorted and coded but also care about the people behind the numbers, then this is the job for you. This interesting role supports our clinical teams, focusing on patients with Long Term Conditions like diabetes, asthma and COPD. You will ensure medical records are kept accurate and clinically safe, enabling clinicians to practice safely and confidently.
Main Duties
* Clinical Coding – Identify relevant clinical information from patient correspondence, code or free‑text the information onto the patient record and deal with queries relating to coding.
* Records Management – Sort patient records and letters in preparation for summarising, review medical records and produce accurate summaries of patient history, read and code information into the practice clinical system, and monitor progress of notes against practice targets.
* Long Term Condition Invitation – Coordinate the practice system for inviting patients to annual health reviews and medication monitoring, send invites and reminders prioritising vulnerable patient groups, work with other teams to manage caseloads, and feed into the safety monitoring for overdue or missed reviews.
* Statutory and Contractual Support – Manage requests for information, reports and returns relating to contractual and statutory obligations; respond to any other reasonable statutory and contractual support requests.

Pay & Working Pattern
Salary: £12.21 to £13.77 an hour (depending on experience). Permanent contract. Full‑time, part‑time, or job share options.
Job Responsibilities
* Work within multi‑disciplinary teams including reception, admin, pharmacy technician, GP, practice nurse and manager.
* Relish responsibility and independent working.

* Experience with SystmOne (clinical system) is an advantage but not essential.
Person Specification – Qualifications
* GCSE grade A to C in English and Maths.
* Competent in MS Outlook, Word and especially Excel.
Desirable Qualifications
* Previous experience in General Practice Administration.
* Experience of using TPP SystmOne.
