About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and driven Head of Operations to oversee and lead the day-to-day running of our scaffolding, roofing, and property services divisions. This pivotal role will act as the bridge between staff and the Company Director, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, on budget, and to the highest quality standards.
The successful candidate will be a strong leader with proven operational management experience in construction or property services, capable of managing multiple teams, streamlining processes, and driving growth across all areas of the business.
Key Responsibilities
* Operational Leadership:
* Take overall responsibility for daily operations across scaffolding, roofing, and property services.
* Ensure efficient allocation of labour, plant, and materials to deliver projects effectively.
* Oversee scheduling, project planning, and workforce deployment across multiple sites.
* Staff & Team Management:
* Act as the main point of contact between the Company Director and site/project staff.
* Lead, mentor, and develop operational teams to maintain high performance and morale.
* Ensure compliance with HR policies, training requirements, and health & safety standards.
* Health & Safety Compliance:
* Champion a safety-first culture across all divisions.
* Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, including scaffolding and roofing standards, risk assessments, and method statements.
* Financial & Commercial Oversight:
* Support the Director in monitoring budgets, project costs, and profitability.
* Identify opportunities to reduce costs, increase efficiency, and maximise margins.
* Assist in preparing quotes, tenders, and operational reporting.
* Process & Performance Improvement:
* Implement systems and procedures to ensure consistent service delivery across divisions.
* Monitor KPIs, reporting regularly to the Director on operational performance.
* Drive continuous improvement initiatives across the business.
* Client & Stakeholder Management:
* Maintain professional relationships with clients, suppliers, and contractors.
* Support business development by ensuring excellent customer service and project delivery.
* Resolve operational issues promptly and effectively.
Skills & Experience Required
* Proven track record in an operational management role within construction, scaffolding, roofing, or property services.
* Strong leadership and people management skills.
* Excellent knowledge of health & safety regulations (CISRS, SMSTS, or equivalent desirable).
* Commercially aware with strong budget and cost-control skills.
* Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
* Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
* Proficient in using project management software, Microsoft Office, and reporting tools.

Pay: £30,755.86-£50,249.50 per year
