The Role
As an Electrical Maintenance Engineer, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You’ll provide operational facilities maintenance support to the Babcock vehicle engineering site.
Day-to-day, you’ll participate in the delivery of a wide range of facilities maintenance activities including supporting electrical work which would include test and inspection duties along with controlling stock, maintain workshop tools and develop business awareness.
* Carry out planned maintenance activities within the facilities as required.
* Carry out fault finding and make safe operations at the earliest opportunity on a variety of mechanical and electrical systems.
* Process reactive maintenance requests in a timely and efficient way ensuring priorities are determined and reacted to accordingly.
* Raise corrective work orders and monitor progress to ensure infrastructure works are carried out within agreed timescales.
* Maintain and update systems to support Facilities Management related activity as required.
Please note that the successful candidate will be required to pass a targeted medical questionnaire and/or medical examination as a condition of employment for this role. This position involves manual work. This could include lifting, bending, using tools, or standing for extended periods of time.
This role is full time, 40 hours per week and is based on site at Walsall.
Essential experience of the Electrical Maintenance Engineer
* Strong knowledge of Mechanical/ Electrical Repair and Overhaul activity.
* Understanding of relevant statutory regulations
Qualifications for the Electrical Maintenance Engineer
* 18th Edition Qualified - C&G 2382-22
* Test and Inspection Qualified - C&G 2391
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) and NPPV security clearance for this role.
