Manufacturing Supervisor – £55,000 – Manchester
We’re delighted to be partnering with a leading engineering and defence manufacturer to recruit an experienced Manufacturing Supervisor for their Stockport facility.
This is a permanent opportunity to step into a key leadership role, ensuring that high-quality products are delivered safely, on time, and within budget. You’ll drive operational excellence, promote a strong culture of safety and accountability, and lead continuous improvement initiatives across all manufacturing activities.
Key Responsibilities
Lead day-to-day manufacturing operations to achieve production, quality, and cost targets
Champion continuous improvement to enhance efficiency, output, and team performance
Ensure full compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations
Plan and allocate resources effectively, including shift coverage and cross-functional support
Deliver daily briefings and maintain KPI boards (SQCDP) to track and report performance
Monitor production progress, resolve issues promptly, and implement corrective actions
Support staff development through coaching, mentoring, and on-the-job training
Maintain high workplace standards, ensuring audit readiness and regulatory compliance
Oversee the consistent application of quality systems, processes, and manufacturing standards
Candidate Requirements
Degree or HND in Manufacturing, Engineering, or a related discipline
Minimum of 3 years’ supervisory experience within a manufacturing environment
Demonstrated leadership ability with strong production risk management skills
Experience in aerospace, automotive, or precision engineering (desirable)
Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills
Knowledge of SAP/MRP systems (advantageous)
IOSH or NEBOSH certification (preferred)
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
