Job Title: Lecturer in Foundation Studies (Full-Time & Part-Time Positions Available)
Location: Uxbridge / Hayes
Salary: £32,874 – £45,650 per annum (pro-rata for part-time), depending on experience
Contract: Fixed Term until 14 July 2026
Hours:
1. Full-Time: 36 hours per week
2. Part-Time: 14.4 hours per week
Overview:
We are currently seeking passionate and dedicated individuals for Lecturer – Foundation Studies roles at a leading education provider in West London. These positions offer an opportunity to teach and support learners across Foundation programmes, with a focus on Access to Further Education and personal development for students with diverse learning needs.
This role is suitable for experienced Further Education (FE) lecturers or those with strong teaching experience looking to develop in a highly supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
3. Deliver engaging and inclusive lessons across a range of Foundation programmes.
4. Prepare learners for portfolio-based qualifications and Functional Skills assessments.
5. Collaborate with Learning Support Assistants to meet individual learner needs.
6. Participate in activity days and residential trips within the Foundation Studies department.
7. Act as a named tutor and track student progress, attendance, and attainment.
8. Support students’ development of employability and independent living skills.
9. Contribute to the preparation of schemes of work, lesson plans, and assessments.
10. Attend team meetings, complete progress reviews, and maintain accurate student records.
11. Support the integration of Functional Skills and employability training.
Requirements:
Essential:
12. Minimum Level 3 qualification in a relevant subject area (a degree is preferred)
13. Teaching experience within Foundation Learning or similar provisions
14. Experience supporting learners with learning difficulties and/or challenging behaviour
15. Level 5 teaching qualification or willingness to work towards one (training support provided)
16. GCSEs in English and Maths at Grade C/4 or equivalent (or willingness to achieve)
17. Strong classroom management and communication skills
18. Commitment to safeguarding, equality and diversity, and inclusive learning
Desirable:
19. Experience of teaching Functional Skills
20. Proficiency in using e-learning platforms and IT tools in the classroom
