The Opportunity As a Scientist II – Analytical, you’ll take on a lab-based role working across polymer chemistry, immunoassays, and/or biochemistry. You’ll be instrumental in both hands-on R&D and broader analytical efforts. This is a collaborative and visible position, reporting directly to the Head of Analytical Chemistry, who in turn reports into the C-suite—so your work won’t be buried in middle management. Key Responsibilities Design and execute experiments; analyse and interpret complex datasets Develop, optimise and validate analytical methods Write and maintain SOPs and lab documentation to ISO13485 and GLP standards Contribute to design control and technical transfer processes Lead or support daily lab activities across project teams Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders and, on occasion, external customers Perform COSHH assessments and support lab H&S compliance Train and upskill colleagues as needed Core Techniques You'll Use Primary: HPLC Additional: FIDA, FTIR, FPLC, DLS, BLI, UV Spectroscopy, Electrochemistry, SPR We’re Looking For Essential: Degree in Chemistry, Biology, Physics, Engineering, or a related field At least 2 years’ industry experience in a lab-based role Hands-on experience with HPLC or comparable analytical techniques Strong data interpretation and troubleshooting abilities Familiarity with ISO13485 or GMP environments A flexible, fast-paced, problem-solving mindset Desirable: 1–5 years postgrad experience in R&D or QC Experience in polymers, microfluidics, or cell & gene therapy Knowledge of assay development and validation Core Skills Strong written and verbal communication Confident in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) Diligent in maintaining accurate, compliant records
