Thames Valley Cancer Alliance (TVCA) is a partnership thatbrings together leaders from different hospital trusts, GPs and primary care, healthand social organisations, covering a population of nearly 1.8 million people.Our aim is to improve the diagnosis, treatment and care for cancer patients inour local area.
We are seeking to recruit a Cancer Pathway ImprovementManager to join our innovative and dynamic team. The post holder will workclosely with the Head of Service Improvement and Tumour Specific Clinical Leadswithin the Service Improvement and Operational Performance portfolios to ensurethe TVCA deliver improvements to cancer pathways and performance across ourfootprint.

Main duties of the job
The post holder will work as part of a dynamic team indelivering an effective service supporting delivery of pathway improvementsacross the Cancer Alliance. The role will support the Head of ServiceImprovement (TVCA) and Trusts, deliver pathway improvements to support fulladoption of best practice timed pathways and achievement of the key cancerwaiting times standards.
The successful candidate will:
Be responsible for the development andimplementation of multiple cancer pathway improvement priorities, includingsupporting MDT reform, shared pathway improvements, diagnostic pathways andtreatment variation, which will ensure achievement of continuous improvementacross clinical pathways as defined within the programme workplan.
Be responsible for supporting the ClinicalAdvisory Groups (CAGs) to set up and support the Tumour Site Specific Groups,managing the organisation, secretariat, reporting and actions of these meetings
Support the Clinical Leads in setting standardsand providing quality assurance of cancer services across the Thames Valleysystem to reduce variation.
Be responsible for the detailed analysis ofhighly complex information in relation to multiple aspects of the Trustsperformance. This information will be used to drive change, working incollaboration with key stakeholders internal and external to the Trusts.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Educated to masters level or equivalent level of experience of working at a senior level within Cancer Services.
* Evidence of post qualifying and continuing professional development.
Experience
* Extensive knowledge of specialist areas, acquired through post graduate diploma or equivalent experience or training plus further specialist knowledge or experience to masters level equivalent.
* Experience of working within cancer services.
* Experience of leading and managing improvement projects at a senior level in the NHS.
* Experience of analysing complex data with multiple information components in both qualitative and quantitative formats.
* Experience of working with and engaging a wide range of stakeholders.
* Experience of designing strategy and policies aligned to corporate, clinical and business objectives and plans.
* Experience of successful implementation of service improvements.
* Must have an understanding of the background to and aims of current healthcare policy and appreciate the implications of this on engagement.
* Should have an appreciation of the relationship between the Department of Health & Social Care and individual provider and commissioning organisations.
