Join to apply for the Pathology IT Technical Support Officer role at East Kent Hospitals University NHS Foundation Trust.
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Blood Sciences team for 12-months (maternity cover) as the Haemophilia Laboratory IT Technical Support Officer. This role supports the implementation of a new Laboratory Information and Management System (LIMS) within a nationally recognized network, ensuring connectivity and responsiveness to patient needs.
The successful candidate will collaborate with IT Leads, Support Officers, and Scientific staff across multiple sites, involved in design, user acceptance testing, and analysis of the new LIMS across Blood Sciences services. Travel to other sites may be required.
The role is ideal for a self-motivated, organized, and compassionate individual with a good understanding of Blood Sciences, particularly coagulation, and experience working in a UKAS ISO15189:2022 regulated environment. It is offered as a 12-month fixed-term contract or secondment.
Responsibilities include supporting the design, testing, and interpretation of test scripts for UAT, highlighting deficiencies, supporting training, and collaborating on middleware upgrades related to LIMS implementation. Close work with Quality Leads and Biomedical Scientists is essential for quality assessments and ensuring system robustness.
