Grass Roots is proud to be supporting a specialist independent school in the North Walsham area in recruiting a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a highly motivated and supportive team that is committed to making a genuine difference in the lives of children and young people with additional needs.

About the School

The school provides education for children and young people aged 6–16 years with a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC). Through a calm, nurturing and inclusive approach, the school delivers a highly personalised curriculum that balances academic achievement with social communication, independence, wellbeing and preparation for adulthood.

The Role

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and other professionals to support pupils both individually and in small groups. You will play a key role in helping students to:

* Access learning and engage fully with the curriculum

* Develop confidence and independence

* Build positive relationships

* Strengthen communication and social skills

* Achieve their full potential within a supportive environment

We Are Looking For Someone Who:

* Has experience working within an SEN, SEND or SEMH setting

* Has experience supporting children or young people with additional needs, particularly autism

* Can build positive and trusting relationships with pupils

* Demonstrates a patient, calm and caring approach

* Possesses strong communication and teamwork skills

What We Offer

* A welcoming and supportive school community

* Opportunities for professional development and ongoing training

* A rewarding role where you can make a meaningful impact every day

* The opportunity to work alongside a dedicated and experienced team

Additional Information

The successful applicant will be required to:

* Undertake further training as required by the school

* Complete an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check

* Comply with the Childcare (Disqualification) Regulations 2009, where applicable

* Demonstrate effective written and spoken English communication skills

The school will be conducting interviews between 22nd June and 25th June. This position is initially offered on a temporary contract, with a strong likelihood of becoming permanent due to continued growth in student numbers.

If you are passionate about supporting children and young people with additional needs and would like to be part of a school that values inclusion, respect and individual achievement, we would love to hear from you.
