Global Legal plays an important role in protecting the Group’s reputation by helping to future-proof the organisation through robust legal risk and issue advisory. Responsible for providing comprehensive legal advice to senior management and all global businesses and functions, the team offers a diverse range of legal skills, jurisdictional experience and practice specialisms across all countries and territories in which our businesses operate.
We are currently seeking an ambitious individual to join our COO team as a Head of Data and Legal Tech Operations. The role will have an expertise in AI, Data and Technology Operations and will be responsible for defining and managing technical operational workflows required to support the various legal teams.
In this role you will:
* Lead design, deployment, and operational management of AI-enabled legal workflows (drafting, investigations, collections, knowledge management, analytics).
* Translate legal processes into practical, repeatable, and controlled AI solutions embedded in daily legal work.
* Ensure usability, governance, and measurable impact of AI tools for legal teams.
* Define and operate end-to-end collection workflows across structured and unstructured data sources, including non-M365 sources (audio, legacy archives).
* Partner with Head of E-Discovery on information governance, legal holds, preservation, retention, and defensibility.
* Apply deep knowledge of enterprise banking data environments, including data ownership, lineage, quality, and platform dependencies.
To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements:
* Significant senior-level experience in legal operations, e-discovery, data operations, or regulated enterprise technology environments.
* Proven track record of operationalizing AI or advanced automation in production environments.
* Strong understanding of risk, controls, and auditability within a financial institution or law firm environment.
* Ability to operate as both a strategic leader and hands-on operator across legal, technology, and risk stakeholders.
* Strong oral and written communication skills to engage with legal teams, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
