PE-backed business in the professional services sector is looking to appoint an Accounts Manager to support the Financial Controller with day-to-day accounting, reporting, and cashflow management.
This is a hands-on finance role covering all aspects of month-end reporting, transactional finance, and management accounting. Youll be responsible for producing draft management accounts, managing cashflow, and providing ad hoc reporting and analysis.
Youll also oversee the work of two junior team members, ensuring accuracy across bookkeeping and transactional processing.
Key responsibilities
Produce draft management accounts for one small entity
Prepare cashflow forecasts and monitor daily movements
Post journals, accruals, and prepayments
Reconcile balance sheet accounts
Support budgeting and forecasting cycles
Provide ad hoc reporting and financial analysis as needed
Oversee bookkeeping, purchase and sales ledger, and bank reconciliations
Liaise with customers, suppliers, and insurers on finance queries
Support and review the work of two junior finance team members
Maintain accurate records within Xero
About you
Grounding in management and financial accounting
Experience producing management accounts
Hands-on with transactional finance and reconciliations
Experience using Xero (or similar accounting system)
Comfortable in a fast-paced, SME-style environment
Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
AAT qualified or qualified by experience (ACCA/CIMA part-qualified also considered)
Available to start at short notice
Package & working pattern
£35,000
£40,000 (depending on experience)
4 days on site in Huddersfield, 1 day working from home (Friday)
6-month temporary contract, with potential to extend
