Job Description:
AFC Wimbledon Women are looking to recruit a dedicated, self-motivated, and knowledgeable individual interested in women’s football at Tier 3, working with elite female footballers.
The role is suited for Chartered Physiotherapists, Sports Therapists, or Sports Rehabilitators to join the Medical department. The Medical Therapist plays a key role in the club's long-term vision.
The successful candidate will work within a Tier 3 women’s football club, providing physiotherapy and rehabilitation for all women’s team players, including occasional involvement with pathway players.
Candidates should be flexible with working hours, including weekends, midweek sessions, and occasional overnight stays. This is an excellent opportunity for proactive individuals passionate about football. Opportunities for internal CPD and staying current with literature and scope of practice are provided.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide emergency first aid during training and matches
* Assess injured players clinically before games
* Maintain detailed injury and treatment records and upload them to our platform
* Communicate regularly with coaches, the strength and conditioning team, and players regarding injuries and availability
* Participate in in-house CPD sessions
* Support the development of junior therapists within the women’s pathway
* Ensure compliance with club policies including health and safety, equality, safeguarding, and confidentiality
Qualifications and requirements:
* BSc degree in Physiotherapy, Sports Therapy, or Sports Rehabilitation
* HCPC/BASRaT/SST registration
* In-date EMFA qualification (with commitment to annual reaccreditation)
* Willingness to work with high-level athletes, including injury management and rehabilitation planning
* Medical insurance suitable for treating semi-professional women’s footballers
* Ability to play or participate in football at a high level
* MSc in Physiotherapy, Sports Therapy, or Sports Rehabilitation
