Overview
Self-Employed General Practitioners are invited to join our out-of-hours service in Shropshire (Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin). We offer a range of shift patterns to suit your availability, including evening, overnight, and weekend work.
Responsibilities
* Work as an autonomous practitioner within a multidisciplinary team to deliver safe, patient-centred urgent care.
* Face-to-face shifts at Primary Care Centres across the Shropshire locality.
* Mobile shifts undertaking home visits for patients unable to travel to a centre, supported with a fully equipped medical car.
* Triage shifts based at our regional Head Office; support telephone triage during core daytime hours.
* Operate within an appointment-only system managed by our Coordinators.
* Provide clinical assessment, diagnosis where possible, and treatment (where appropriate) for adults and paediatric patients attending our centres or during remote consultations.
* Accurately triage and prioritise patients, eliciting history and relevant clinical information.
* Refer patients to appropriate alternative care settings and support the Care Coordination Service.
* Undertake home visits with a driver and fully equipped medical car as required.
About you / Requirements
* Full GMC registration with license to practice
* Inclusion on the NHS England Medical Performers List
* Up-to-date indemnity cover appropriate for out-of-hours work
* Experience in urgent or unscheduled care settings (preferred)
* Proficiency with Adastra (preferred)
* Calm, methodical approach to clinical decision-making
* Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams
* Commitment to high standards of clinical governance and patient care
