About the Role
A well-established, privately owned rail and infrastructure contractor is seeking a proactive and commercially astute Quantity Surveyor to join their growing commercial team. This is an exciting opportunity to be involved in a variety of rail projects across the UK, contributing to the successful delivery of works in both track renewals and civil engineering packages.
Working from a head office in Doncaster, with regular travel to sites as required, you will support the commercial function across a portfolio of rail infrastructure schemes – from early-stage pricing through to final account.
Key Responsibilities
* Administer and manage NEC and bespoke contracts across multiple rail-related projects
* Assist with cost forecasting, budgeting, and CVR reporting
* Manage subcontractor procurement, valuations, and payments
* Liaise with internal project delivery teams and external stakeholders to ensure commercial alignment
* Prepare and submit accurate interim applications and final accounts
* Monitor change control and manage variations, early warnings, and compensation events
* Support monthly commercial reporting and ensure timely input into financial processes
* Attend regular site meetings to monitor progress and liaise with site teams
Requirements
* Proven experience working as a Quantity Surveyor within the rail, civil engineering, or infrastructure sectors
* Strong working knowledge of NEC contracts
* Familiarity with Network Rail procedures and standards is desirable
* Excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical skills
* Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines
* Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to project sites
