We have an opportunity for an experienced Registered Nurse or Physiologist to join our friendly team in our new CDC department (Community, Diagnostic Centre).
The role will include planning and undertaking a range of simple, specialist and complex diagnostic respiratory assessments with a considerable degree of responsibility and autonomy, performed in accordance with ARTP or ERS/ATS criteria where applicable, in both paediatric and adult patients.
The candidate must have previous experience performing Spirometry tests. Previous experience with paediatrics is not essential as training will be provided.
The successful candidate will be able to analyse and interpret a large range of diagnostic tests.
Responsibilities
* Maintain up to date clinical knowledge.
* Obtain accurate and informative results.
* Be responsible for own professional development and professional registration.
* Demonstrate care and respect for both patients and fellow staff members.
* Provide cross cover as and when required to other hospital sites.
* Facilitate students and others to develop their competence through supervision, teaching and role‑modeling.
* Assist in setting department objectives in line with the Unit, Corporate and national objectives.
* Ensure that safe systems of work are practised in the Lung function & sleep department, and that all Health and Safety legislation, other relevant legislation and Trust policies are adhered to.
* Conduct risk assessments and report all significant problems and identified hazards to the Respiratory speciality management group meetings.
* Communicate and negotiate with staff at all levels within the Trust (medical, nursing, technical and administrative colleagues, Consultant medical staff and senior management) and external stakeholders as required.
* Undertake all audit and governance roles within lung function services.
* Maintain databases and records and produce timely and relevant statistical reports on workload.
* Actively participate in MDTs or Respiratory meetings.
* Ensure that all information is recorded appropriately on the necessary clinical systems.
* Ensure all statistical and activity data including coded data is accurately recorded.
